Barry S. Kraushaar, MD Dr. Kraushaar began practicing in 1996 and founded Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PLLC in 1999. He is also Co-Director of Nyack Hospital's Joint Replacement Center. Dr. Kraushaar treats patients of all ages and specializes in joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, and sports injuries to the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Jason E. Fond, MD Dr. Fond joined this practice in August 2001. In addition to sports medicine, Dr. Fond treats patients of all ages with multiple orthopedics diagnoses, including joint reconstruction for arthritis, fixation of complex fractures, hand trauma, and pediatric injuries. Richard L. Popowitz, MD Dr. Popowitz became a member of the team in August 2004. Though specializing in sports-related injuries, he also treats patients of all ages with a wide range of orthopedic symptoms and diagnoses. Dr. Popowitz is also a doctor for local teams and professional athletes including Miami Marlins MLB team.
Jeffrey R. Lee, MS, RPA-C Jeff is the physician assistant on staff. He completed his undergraduate studies in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training at Marietta College. After graduating, he was accepted into the New Jersey Nets summer internship program where he helped care for the professional athletes. He has been with AOSM since 1999 and has assisted in thousands of surgeries.
He continued his education at the University of Medicine of New Jersey and Seton Hall University, completing a 3-year master's program in physician assistant studies. Since graduating, Jeff has been working in orthopedics and sports medicine. His duties consist of surgical assisting, patient management, and coverage of various sporting events.
